Harry Kane: I’m Staying
Harry Kane says he will remain at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 28-year-old striking talent ended long-running speculation regarding his supposedly imminent transfer when he announced on Twitter that he would not be leaving the Lilywhites.
On Wednesday, 25 August, he tweeted an image of himself wearing the number 10 shirt and wrote: “I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.”
Previously, rumours had been circulating that Kane would be potentially leaving his boyhood club to join Manchester City for the 2021/22 season, but City apparently failed to meet the £150 million price tag.
The announcement left Spurs coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, relieved as he said: “To us, it says we are able to keep one of the best players in the world, this is important.”
Kane’s contract – which he signed in 2018 – still has three years left, reassuring fans of many more matches and goals from his golden boot. To date, the top-flight footballer has made 246 appearances with Tottenham, scoring 166 goals throughout his entire English Premier League career.
